Pseudotsuga menziesii is a green conifer species in the pine family, Pinaceae. It originates from western North America and is known as Douglas fir, Douglas-fir, Oregon pine, and Colombian pine. There are three varieties: Douglas-fir beach, Rocky Mountain Douglas-fir and Douglas-Mexico fir.
